Westward Ho! The Oregon Trail
Today we’re sharing big news- Dave Jr, Vice-President of Visual Design, is leaving Davelle Clothiers in Mid July. Together with his wife, he is heading out across the country to move to his home state of Oregon.
Once there, he will pursue a new career in Network Engineering, an area of study from college. While we are excited for his family as they move on to the next chapter in their lives, he will be greatly missed.
As part of a family owned business, Dave Jr was raised surrounded by a passion for quality clothing. He remembers boxes of ties in his garage in the early days of Davelle Clothiers, growing up he had the opportunity to go on factory tours, buying trips, and even create his own fabrics.
He combined this experience with formal training from about custom made clothing from Hickey Freeman and the Custom Designers and Tailors Association. You can see this expertise on display in several of the Davelle Clothiers video series, instructing gentlemen on everything from how to tie a tie to how to avoid common clothing misconceptions.
Dave Jr graduated from Radford University with a degree in Graphic Design. He returned to Northern Virginia to work at Davelle where he excelled at combining his love for art and design with his expertise in menswear and quality clothing.
In addition to have long standing and close relationships with his many clients, Dave Jr is renowned for his displays and merchandising. It is difficult to come into the store without being drawn to new and interesting displays throughout the store.
Dave Jr’s window displays are also exceptional, with Town Center visitors constantly stopping to take a better look. While many stores take a product line and put them together in a display, Dave Jr is a master at using different brands to create unique and stylish looks that you won’t see anywhere else.
And in the process, Dave Jr uses these displays to show clients how to put together their own wardrobe- demonstrating how to combine fabrics, patterns and colors in distinctive ways.
Additionally, he is the stylist behind the photo shoots featured in the Davelle Clothiers marketing materials and was selected as the stylist for NoVa Exec’s first photo shoot for their magazine, with amazing results that wowed the magazine staff and readers alike.
Fortunately Dave Jr will return to Northern Virginia regularly to continue to work on our visual displays, so keep your eye on the windows and displays for more great things to come! We know Dave Jr is ready for a change and we wish him all the best. If you’d like send him any farewell messages, please post them on the Davelle Clothiers Facebook page.
