How Our Trade-In Sale Turns Old into Gold
It’s that time of year – our 23rd annual Trade-In Sale has come around once again! This year we’re doing it bigger and better than ever, giving you the opportunity to refresh your wardrobe in a sustainable way, while helping the community at the same time.
We all have old, worn, outdated clothes that we hang onto for various reasons. Perhaps you’re nostalgic for decades gone by, keeping things that will never be stylish again. You might have stacks of clothes that don’t fit, in the hope that someday you’ll get back to the size you used to be. Or sometimes you just don’t want to throw away items that you paid a lot of money for, because it feels wasteful. These concerns are all understandable, especially as more and more of us are committed to sustainability. But in order to clear out space for newer and better things to come into your life, first you have to say goodbye to the past. The good news is, we have a great way that you can clean out your closet, use those unwanted items to upgrade to new ones, and benefit your community in the process.
During our Trade-In Sale, you can bring in your used clothing – whether it be shirts, slacks, ties, jackets, coats, or even sweaters – and rather than throwing them away, we’ll help you trade those items in for the latest looks and styles instead. In turn, the donated items and five percent of the proceeds of the sale go to Goodwill. Goodwill then uses those donations to help give employment opportunities to those in need, with resources like job training, as well as transportation so that people can get to and from work.
In short, our Trade-In Sale is a winning situation all around – we get to give back to our customers, and together we can all give back to the community.
This year, we’re going one step further and taking items like jeans and belts for trade-in. You almost certainly have jeans and belts that you aren’t (or shouldn’t be) wearing anymore; the time has come to bring those items in and upgrade them.
The way you look and carry yourself matters. Your outward appearance sends a message about who you are and what you’re about. It’s your choice whether it’s going to be a positive, powerful message, letting others know that you are not just another face in the crowd.
