Honor Our Veterans: Support Operation Homefront
On Monday, November 12 America celebrates Veterans Day. At Davelle Clothiers, we have our own tradition to honor our troops: it’s our annual Trade-In event to support Operation Homefront. I want to devote today’s blog post to the efforts that this wonderful organization puts forth to deliver emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors.
Operation Homefront provides a wide range of services, everything from financial assistance, home and auto repair, to family transportation and child care when a family member is wounded in the line of duty. To soldiers and their spouses, receiving aid and support can be a life saver.
Here are just some of the ways that you support Operation Homefront:
- Clip coupons for service members U.S. troops stationed abroad can use the coupons you send at base stores in the US and abroad. Overseas military bases will accept expired grocery coupons up to three months from their expiration date as well as non-expired coupons. For the cost of postage, you can help our military families save big every month!
- Donate gas cards. Military families sometimes have to travel long distances to be with their loved ones, or travel to medical facilities far from their homes and families. These situations can make deep cuts in the budgets of the families of our deployed and wounded warriors. You can donate gas cards from any area gas stations.
- Help stretch the food budget. Consider donating grocery gift cards, as well as VISA, MasterCard or American Express gift cards this holiday season to help military families put food on the table.
- Between now and October 31, bring your gently worn suits, shirts, shoes and ties to Davelle Clothiers and receive a discount on the purchase of new items. We’ll make a donation to Operation Homefront equal to 5% of your purchase and your clothing donations will go to servicemen returning home and back to the workforce.
Our Trade-In event will only go until the end of October, so please come in this week and invest in our servicemen and women as you invest in your style.
