Why the Holidays Are a Perfect Time to Reassess Your Wardrobe
There are so many things that make the holidays the most special time of the year. It’s a time to spend with family and loved ones, for sure, and a time to focus on what’s most important in our lives. It’s also a period when many people pause to look back over the past twelve months, and make commitments and plans for the future.
There’s a focus on celebration, all amidst an air of comfort and luxury. Just look around – everything you see is champagne and glitter and gold. If ever you were going to treat yourself or make a decision to enjoy your life more, this is the perfect season to get started on that.
The phrase “new year, new you” may be a cliché, but there’s actually a lot to be said for investing in yourself. Most people usually cite increased fitness, career advancement, or an improved social life as goals they’d like to work toward on that front. All of these involve feeling better about yourself, and presenting that enhanced self-image to the world.
Here are some things to consider about upgrading your personal situation:
• Traditionally the emphasis has been on the cars we drive, the gadgets and accessories we buy, or the houses we live in. In recent years, though, priorities are shifting toward greater individual expression, with an emphasis on rich and meaningful daily experiences. Quantity over quality is out; authenticity and living your best life are in
• It’s surprising how much what you wear can factor into your confidence, your mood, and projecting who you are to others. If you’ve never been the type of person to spend time thinking about your personal style, it can be hard to imagine the difference it can make
• It’s not just about choosing quality clothing, either, though that’s certainly important. It’s the entire wardrobe selection experience from start to finish, beginning from the moment you walk through the front door of a respected clothier
• Personal service, ambience, and attention to detail all play a significant role, and once you see just how those aspects all come together to contribute to the end result, it’s unlikely you’ll want to choose anything else.
So this holiday season, when you’re thinking about the changes you’d like to make for the coming year and the ways in which you’d like to enhance your daily life, take the opportunity to assess your wardrobe, and ask yourself if this is one area where you could make some improvements. Try not to see it just in terms of how much clothing you’re getting for the budget you’ve set aside, but rather how you feel about the entire experience of designing how the world will view you, and, more importantly, how the outward projection of your self-image reflects who you really want to be.
Visual impact matters, and how you feel about your wardrobe-building experience factors just as much into that impact as the clothes you choose. The holidays are a great time to make a positive change and start heading in a new direction.
