Discover Power Business Casual: Fridays never looked better!

Discover Power Business Casual: Fridays never looked better!

In our last post, How to Work Casual Friday for Upward Mobility, we discussed common pitfalls to avoid when dressing for work on Fridays. It may be “casual” Friday, but that doesn’t mean you are not judged on appearance, and why jeopardize twenty percent of your work week by dressing inappropriately?

In today’s post, I’m going to introduce the concept of Power Casual.

Power Business Casual Looking put-together in well-tailored clothes in quality fabrics that flatter but don’t overwhelm; you command respect. Your peers view you as a force with which to be reckoned. Management sees you as “in charge”, as someone who they could envision in a leadership role.

Why not consider Power Casual as a stylish, career-expanding alternative to dressing down at work? In my book, The Business of Style, I give the following examples:

“The best formula is a great solid suit with an interesting shirt or an elegant knit sweater in a Polo or mock-tee style. In the summer months, opt for a breathable fabric like silk. These are great if they color balance with the jacket.”

From my own David’s Signature Collection, choose a suit in a light-weight solid navy fabric, and pair with pale gray or lavender, two of the season’s hottest color trends.

Remember that with Power Business Casual, as with more formal business attire, you should never sacrifice comfort for style. Davelle has many options that will give you one more good reason to look forward to the end of the week.

If you would like to say good bye to your closet full of khakis and chambray shirts in favor of a more upwardly mobile casual look, please call for an appointment. We would be happy to work with you to help you select your Power Business Casual look.

See you at the top of the corporate ladder!
