The Importance of Giving Back at Davelle Clothiers

As Davelle Clothiers celebrates 25 years of helping men look their very best, I know our success would not be possible without hard work, perseverance, and always keeping our customers’ needs and goals at the center of what we do. Along with my faith, these values have inspired me in business and in giving back.

Partnering with Goodwill of Greater Washington has allowed us to do more for our customers and our community. Since 2012, Goodwill has been the beneficiary of the annual Trade-In/Trade-Up Sale campaign. Each fall, Davelle customers donate their unneeded suits to our store located in Reston Town Center which are then donated to Goodwill to be sold in their retail stores and on their eCommerce site; and 5% of the proceeds of new suits purchased during the sale are donated to Goodwill. Over the last four years, our customers’ donations and purchases have helped generate more than $55,000–the equivalent of more than 2,200 hours of job training offered at no cost to unemployed and underemployed individuals with disabilities and disadvantages in our community.

I believe the people who benefit from our support and from Goodwill’s programs are committing themselves to working hard throughout Goodwill’s five- to seven-week training programs despite the barriers they face. Involving our customers and associates in helping these individuals to persevere and to do and be better, ultimately impacts our entire community.
